Ok chevrolet you have my attention. As a teen I was a domestic driver (monte carlo& mercury cougar xr7∧ a charger)OK so I like a little muscle with good looks, but when it really comes down to it I'm looking for a good feel :-) ... in the eighties I went japanese(toyota celica gts),in the nineties german(porsche 944)and the millienium back to chevrolet (camaro). I have been searching for the right sport sedan and have been waiting for the concept ss to hit the road so I can buy one.How long must a girl wait? I need one more thing on the car though... recently moved from the south up to the north. Though I love the feel of a rear wheel sports car with a tight turning ratio I need the all wheel drive to keep the spouse happy. Can you please add that on mine and send one to my my garage?

Front grille looks like a chopped grille from a 69 camaro, lights are from 2002 camaro ss, and body resembles a Chrysler Crossfire, GOOOOOOD Design, hope they make it!

a family car with huge balls. its got a corvette feel, and even at first glance looks like a 2 door, but it also has that badass chevelle style to it, with a new age twist. i love this car. every family man in america will be buying one of these. built in child seat in the back, seats 5, beautiful futuristic interior. this car give me shivers. the features on this car are amazing. it can be used for hauling a far but of stuff, with fold down back seats for extra cargo, plus enough power to get the stuff where you want it, with this baby pumping out 430 hp and 430 ft lb of torque. a really clean sleek design with the exhaust integrated in to the body and 22 inch wheels on the rear and 21's in the front. this car also has a new feature which only uses the power when its needed. im sure youve all read about that so i wont go in to details. the interior is really clean but at the same time, custom looking and futuristic. this is the kind of car that you can buy, not do anything to it, and still be proud of your very badass car. i give it a 20 out of 10(yes i meant to put 20) and this is a very huge score for chevy if they decide to produce it.
 I LOVE IT

Thank GOD a new Chevelle. I think the idea of replacing the Chevelle with the Malibu in the 70's was not a well thought over plan. The Chevelle has become an ICON of the period. Pure rage rumbling from beneath its thrusting hood. The total Muscle car, and now to see it mingle in to newer times keeping up with the sleek new aero dynamics of futuristic cars that now fill the roads. Unlike the others though these newer cars coming back like the 2005 Mustang that looks unfinished like a good idea not completed, the Chevell concept has no rough edges, It is designed supurbly. I will be ordering mine!

"Finally, a car from Chevrolet that sets the bar and doen't attempt to play catch up. My very first car was a '65 Impala SS, 327/4spd. That was the start of a line of over 30 Chevrolets from '35 coupes to a '95 Silverado and included many SS's and trucks. I had given up on Chevrolet and now drive a Chrysler 300M. Chevrolet built NOTHING that MANY of my die hard Chevy friends and I would even consider owning. They only built throw away, boring, old folks cars. But now with the SSR and this AWESOME SS conceopt they are jumping right back into it and I hope they get back to where they used to be. Build it and I WILL BUY IT!!!!!. An absolutely BEAUTIFUL, SEXY, POWERFUL looking automobile!!!! Rear drive and a healthy V8! YEA!! WooHoo!! Yipee!! About time!! FINALLY!! I hope this will replace the pathetic, boring ""slap in the face to the name"" Impala! Name this car what it exudes, IMPALA SS, stay true to the concept and you will never be able to build enough of them!! BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME!!!!!!! AND THEY WILL BUY!!!!!!! An optional T56 would be nice though!! Finally a TRUE muscle car from the company that used to be known for there risk taking and racing heritage. Welcome back Chevrolet!!! Welcome back!!!"

the soon to be new car is a good idea to some piont. i like the under specs. such as the new advanced moter thats nice . everything else is a good idea only thing wrong with the new car is the body style. (its ugly & stupid looking )dont take it personal. but if u really want to keep the chevy muscle car look alive u need to desing it like the 60's to the late 70's camero. (since they are dismanufactured). are make it like the 70's to the 76' chevelle ss. do it like ford did with the 2004 mustangs.( no offence but i hate fords ). so make the new chevrolet ss were it will put fords to shame again like we did in the real muscle car days.
 awesome car!!!!!!!!

i have been waiting for a chevy muscle car i could afford other than the dated camaro. i don't care what they name this car, it looks great and it sounds like it will be an exciting car to drive. a motortrend editor says in the march issue that he owns a c5 vette and this ss concept drives as good as if not better than his c5. that says a lot. i almost bit the bullet last summer and bought a vette but i couldn't bring myself to pay 50000 for a car, even a vette. if they will make this one and it is about 35000, it will sell like hotcakes. i paid off my 2001 impala 2 years early this week so if this car comes out i will order one without question. the only thing that i might suggest from chevy is to make a 2 door also for those of us baby boomers whose children have left the nest. we don't need 4 doors. my only hope is that this is that chevy is not getting us all excited just to bust our bubble again. just make the car and we will buy it. i have always owned chevys since 1963. let's show ford and chrysler how to make a muscle car like we did in the 60's!!!!

"Interesting comments about development of styles. I can go along with you for a great distance, I also grew up with the cars of the 50-ties and the 60-ties. Nevertheless some ""old"" designs may have gained some sort of eternity value, just as this happens with paintings or sculptures by old masters. (I would not rank the Camaro as one though). What I want to say that it is sometimes legitimate to fall back on styling charateristics of master pieces. In the particular case of the SS concept, I just cannot fail to notice that under engine specs it still reads: OHV, as if this concept (the small block once more??) has not been around for about 50 years. It may have proven its value, and the sound of the american V8 in anger is thrilling but by now it is outdated."
 You couldn't handle it.

"To all you ""youngsters"" who think you need a huge engine, 2 doors, red, monster machine, but can't afford anything - to you who think Chevy should build you a rocket for under $10K - you can not handle what you already have! Why do you think your insurance rates are what they are. How many folks under 25 are major causes in highway deaths. Now you think you need to start at the top an work up! Wrong. I can afford it because I started at the bottom - with a '62 Comet! It had an engine that got me home from college on weekends, and was so ugly no one wanted to ride in my 4-door car. The money I saved on gas helped me get through college owing no one anything. I can now pay cash for cool cars - plus I have affordable insurance rates. Come on, kids, be realistic. The only person that owes you anything is you - but first you have to earn that too!"

I have read comments from folks that want a Camero back, think Chevy is copying folks with the SS, - on and on!! The Chevy SS is the epitome of automotive evolution. It brings together a unique combination of high-tech, craftsmanship, design, and art. I grew up with the cars of the 50s and 60s. It was possible to identify a car by its hubcaps. (Some of the folks writing comments probably dont even know what hubcaps are). Cars of that vintage represent automotive art that has long since been lost. The entire car was different from one year to the next or with major modifications. Look at the Chevys from 1954 1960! In 6 years, Chevrolet designed 6 works of art! Now lets talk about the last 6 years of anything on the road today. The Ford Taurus was available for 14 years in a modified design. Today, it is difficult to know if this is a Crown Vic, Mercury, or Town Car. Compare cars from this year to cars made in 1993 much difference absolutely not. Look at a 1950 anything and the same model in 1960 or 1970! That was automotive evolution what happened to it. You Camero lovers or Vett egos how many different models have those cars had in the last 20 years? Finally we are seeing a new generation of cars and you are living in the vacuum of keeping a body style for a decade! Why? This new SS is revolutionary! It blends form, power, dynamics, style, and incorporates hints from the past in a style only the proof of opening the back door wins the argument of Is this a 2-door or a 4-door. This is an awesome vehicle. Why is it necessary to say the front looks like a ---, the back looks like a ---, etc. You probably have features from you dad or mom, but are your own person, right? Do you want to be know as Freds son, or Marys daughter do you not have your identity, but with genes from those that preceded you? Why is the design of a new car any different? Sure the SS incorporates features from the past there are two doors on each side, an engine in the front, and wheels that are round. So what? The end result is unique, awesome, and aesthetically pleasing. What more do you want or need? Say what you want, but you can be the second in line to order one of these after me!

Well its about time Chevy. This is a nice car just like all chevy's. I really think gm is giving chevy the chance to make a good car, here. American made cars have always been the best cars on the face of the earth compared to any of these ricepicker/kraut mobiles. now though chevy is not only rubbing the piece of shit import companies faces in the mudd, but they are holding em there til they suffocate. thank god americans and their cars have always been the greatest thing on the face of the earth. thank you to everyone who works for gm chrysler or ford. and thank you to the people who support the economy of the country they live in by buying american made. dont buy no jap car, they killed a good deal of my family at pearl harbor, you see. and they adolf hitler's country germany, aint you not go out and buy any of his pieces of shit either. support the country you live in. god bless the usa, and die saddam.

"The engine specs on this car sound great but the appearance from the side is ungainly (IMHO). The interior is also weird. It looks like a kit car interior or somthing for the Jetsons. I suggest we all consider an SUV or minivan for family needs rather that compromising on this model that is neither fish nor fowl. Please consider using this same engine in a chevy version of the Alfa Romeo ""Brera"" show car. Also consider going with a turbocharged or twin turbo DOHC V8. I'm driving a Honda S2000 now but I miss my Firebird Trans Am real bad. I am fairly upset with GM for killing the F-body cars. The only decent cars that they have now are the Corvette and the new GTO. We could sure use a new Camaro. GM, please get it together or I may be buying a Subaru WRX STI instead."
 JUST MAKE THE CAR!!!!

"The car is beautiful; Progressive yet classic. If this sums up what Chevy means by Super Sport, then the car should be made. It would be nice if a vehicle actually existed that defines the essence of Super Sport. Have something real out there, as opposed to concept, that people with other SS badged vehicles can point to and say, My car has a little bit of that in it. Right now, a pure Super Sport is just a concept and a thing of the past. As far as the name, I see no reason to label this car anything else but SS. And for those of you who whine about the 4 doors, well maybe a coupe version can be made as well."

Doppelganger anyone? It's truely amazing that a company as fortunate as GM couldn't come up with its own designs. Does this mean that every other car company is going to make a cookie cutter punch out of the Rx8 just because they can sell a few extra vehicles? Please... I'm a Chevy fan myself and find comfort in the fantasy that maybe this was the ridiculous request from GM administration. I can't believe any self respecting designer would blatantly copy someone elses work. Granted it's a nice looking car but that doesn't excuse the theft. Some may say I'm being a little dramatic but I'm tired of the marketing industry flocking to any fad that pops up and producing as much as they can before there is some kind of backlash. Simply shameless!
If you build it they WILL come....

This car is the most jaw dropping, riveting, eye appealing piece of automotive sculpture I have ever seen in a four door design. If it was available tomorrow I would be the first in line to take delivery. It will be a very sad day if Chevrolet decides not to build this car. This car WILL be my next new vehicle purchase, and I am going to start saving for it now. Chevrolet will not be able to build enough of these to keep up with demand, but it MUST be reasonably priced to be a huge seller.
It needs to be built. And forget about the four doors.

If you ask me, this is the perfect vehicle to revive the Chevelle name. Chevy even seems to think so, at least, that's the impression I get when their web site goes from a Chevelle SS to the SS concept. Look everybody, the four doors are there for a reason - same reason as the integrated child seat- so that guys with kids can justify purchasing it. Besides, how is a college or high school student going to realistically afford a car that costs thirty grand? That's what the next generation Camaro is for. This one is to broaden their base. I do think, however that the interior needs to be a little less spartan, and that there needs to be a 5-Speed auto with an optional 6-Speed manual (maybe a SMT?), and with gas prices being what they are, I think Displacement-on-Demand is a must as well. Oh yeah, more realistic tire/wheel setup (Joe Guy can't afford those tires).
 Excellent design

"Generally when concept cars are shown at the auto shows they are too wild looking an somewhat garish in a effort to be bold and attract attention. In the case of the Chevrolet SS, it is modern, retro, and stunning all in one package. All I can say to GM is build it, build it, build it! If handled properly this car would be a real winner for Chevy/GM. I presently own a 95 Impala SS and have been hoping and waiting that GM would wake up and develop a car such as this. Finally a car that I can be excited about,in a ""ho hum"" Accord/Camry saturated car market where this is very little that is affordable that is worth buying. Where else could you get BMW-like performance at half the price? I just hope that it gets built, I plan to get my deposit ready."

This car looks like a freaking Chrysler family car that had a big engine thrown in it and an SS emblem slap on the side!!!! I think that Ford has taken the right path in their new concept by incorporating old styling into a new design. While on the other hand Chevy has well,.. not. This new SS is nothing but a bunch of sleek lines, and random shapes that don't resemble any part of the Camaro heritage. I think that if this car ever goes into production it will kill the SS name and all that it has lived up to, and just become another one of those bubbles driving around on the road...nice try, but i'll have to pass on this one.

"Beautiful car! MAybe just because my blood cells look like little bow ties, but I think this car is awesome. Not overly retro, ie. PT Cruiser, T-BIRD.(though I do like the new mustang concept) People, Quit crying about the 2 extra doors. I like 2 doors also but you can hardly tell they are even there on this car. And besides Mustang owners will really be embarrassed when they relize that they just got their ""doors blown off"" by a car with 4 of them. Note to Chevy, BUILD IT!"

This car is beautiful. Please let this be a 2004 model that look exactly like this concept. I currently own a 2001 camaro ss (which I love very much)that I wouldn't have even given a thought of trading until I saw this awsome machine. So chevy, please let this be the replacement for the camaro. And I know performance will be great because no one does it better than chevy.

"Note to the PR Team at Chevy: the letters ""SS"" are very unlikely to conjour up positive imagery in the US. In and of themselves, they pose no problem. The issue arises from the fact that Adolf Hitler laid claim to this acronism in the late 1920s for his elite troops, which among other duties were in charge of his gas chambers. The car is great. But your not careful, this car will go the way of the NOVA (which for those who do not know suffered horrendous sales in Latin America before someone in the company realized that ""No Va"" is Spanish for ""Does not run."" Steve"""

Wow, this vehicle is Amazing. I've always been a General Motors fanatic, but after they put the Camaro on hiatus I was a little pissed. Well, I hope GM still brings back the F-body and I hope they use the 69 Camaro styling with a modern skin but in the mean time this car has me mesmerized! The lines on the SS are absolutelly classic and the gorgeous sculpted, sheetmetal has all the right bends. It's not overly retro, but I think this vehicle would be well suited to resurect the Chevelle name. It's a 1996 Impala SS with a Ferrari look. I don't care what all the sinics say, if you can have four doors and still look this good, it's STILL a musclecar. I hope the Marauder watches it's back cause this beast HAS to be headed for production! Thank You GM! Just please change as little as possible for production!
 Nice Looking Car!!

I'm a car guy, Ford, GM, Nissan... If a MFR produces a nice looking car that performs well and doesn't start to fall apart after a few thousand miles, I can appreciate it. Being an adult with 2 kids I can also appreciate a four door that doesn't look or perform like a standard family sedan but actually makes me excited to see and drive it. I think Chevy has a winner with this, if they build it an SS like this one it will definitely be on my short list of cars to buy.

Chevy has finally got it right. For those of us who have families but still love the feel of a high performance sports car, this is the right match. The four doors are a plus for loading/unloading children. The body countours and interior design are stylish and elegant. Horse power and torque are excellent features. If it's available with a six speed manual transmision I would definitely consider this as my next car.

honestly...i hate chevy...i am a Ford fan for life..but i can respect what chevy can do with cars for the money (performance wise). this car is a very beautiful car no doubt..i think that the bow tie fans are a little up tight and unimaginative..a company, like an artist cannot grow with doing different things..they are just maturing or growing and developing as automakers.. i think the design is awesome..but my gripe is the four dours.. is it a sedan or a muscle car? but overall it is a shame we wont see ones on the road.

"Is it me or does it kind of resemble an old viper, but with 4 doors? It could end up a corvette, but i doubt it. I also doubt its an impala ss. Its probably a Chevelle or something. It does look sleek, but the front end is straight off a '02 Camaro. Its got the old Vette fins(can you say Stingray?) The gas filler is similar to an old Viper. Why are all the new cars showing the exhaust coming out the body? Seems like it could melt the body to me. Note to Chevy: Good idea, bad execution. Take 2 of those doors off, you got enough sedans. Besides, Let the import people make ""sport sedans."" Stick to what you do best, make American Muscle. """

ya know, I really had faith in the good ol' boys at Chevy...but I don't really like this. It appears like its a cross-breed between a corvette fenders with that grill that Chevy is putting on their new El Camino-ish sport truck thing. The back looks like a corvette influenced by a Ferrari. And also...four doors? PLease! I'm a yougn American. I want speed but looks too. I drive a '66 Chevelle (Red, 350 LT1 block and four barrel edelbrock carb.) and the only American I would even consider buying today would be a Corvette. But as a high school senior...I can't exactly cough up $55,000. It's my personal opinion that Chevy should drag out it's plans for the Classics (Impalas, Chevelles, Novas, etc.) and keep the EXACT same body style but make everything under the hood and dash new. THOSE would sell I think, but something like this is just a grocery-getting church-chariot that's trying to look like cars of the past. Just my $.02 anyways :)

Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, this is THE most BEAUTIFUL chevrolet i have seen in a VERY long time, this is the very embodiment of the Chevrolet brand, rear-wheel drive with a powerful V8, an SS badge and superb design. word has it this concept could be the basis of the next impala ss, if is then the impala will be true to its name and above all, heritage. why did it take chevy so long to come with the perfect sport sedan? this would sell like CRAZY if it went into porduction even with another name, all of a sudden americans are gonna make the most attractive cars on the planet again, i would choose this car over an E55, RS6 and M5 with the blink of an eye.
