Well, Italy is laughing no more. Sure this vette has American pride styling, and a bit of a juvenille interior, but for sure, the performance is there. O.K. so it's not sexy like a Ferrari or exotic like a Lamborghini, but guess what folks... it doesn't have to be. Looks aren't everything, and even considering it's a Chevy, the re-vamped nose is more appealing than it's older siblings. With the induction vents just aft of the front wheels, and a meaner stare from it's streamlined headlights, one might think at a quick 180mph glance that it's a viper. Which is probably why so many Chevy enthusiasts are expecting this to be the David to Dodge's aforementioned Goliath. Without a doubt you will suffer no embarassment owning or driving this vehicle. Would-be import tuners will think twice about inciting a light-to-light dash next to the z06 on U.S. turf. Once GM introduces refined elements like Europe has been doing for decades (such as hand stitched leather on the seats and dash), there will be a serious supply issue in the USA. One constant rings with Ford's SVT line of Cobras and Chevy's line of 01 and newer vettes... VALUE. This thoroughbred doesn't cost as much as a new home, and it provides more enjoyment than a house ever could. (Although you should really read my article on the F430 to be fair to the outrageously priced exotics) |

The sixth generation corvette is finally the "only american sports car", it had become not only a serious performer in a straight line, it is also a great balanced circuit car, and I`m sure that the viper will finally bite the dust, lets see what happens with those gasoline monsters. |
