Best of the Z cars, IMO

Okay, so we all have come to love the S30 (240-280Z) cars, although that love took a while to materialize. The Z32 twin turbo is still a relatively new design, give it enough time to age, and for a number of them to be destroyed through accidents, poor maintainance, etc, this under appreciated Japanese supercar will one day prove to be the japanese collectors dream. It's beauty alone will ensure that, but the performance is what we who have owned them will always remember. xoaixanh087, what are you on? The Z33 has much less inline performance & power of the Vg30DETT (the DET is the crap single cam motor of the Z31), look for any vids pairing the two off, and you will see what I mean. That said, the new Nismo 350Z, with its procharge supercharger /turbocharger setup, is indeed quick.

There will never be cars like this made again. If you have one look after it. With a beautiful Japanese engine, which produces the same amount of power as the 350Z but drags the 300ZX 0-60 in a second quicker. (Using Nissans Official times) And lets not forget the UK 300ZX is heavier than the 350Z because it is 2+2 seater, not just 2 seater. The style has been called dated, but it was good looking enough for Lamborghini to use the 300ZX headlights until 1999 on the Diablo. Greatly underestimated and over looked car.
 turbo? bah, who needs it.

The 300zx, i agree was a great car, but the 350z's new v6 motor puts out more power than the VG30DET stock, and yields a more consistent power curve. That's good enough ain't it?
What happened to the aftermarket Z picture?

I don't know what you guys are talking about cause there isnt a second picture with a bodykit and wheels. I was very dissapointed to learn that the new 350Z wouldnt not feature the twin turbo's. It seems the top Japanese manufacturers (spelled wrong?) have ditched the turbo. The 300zx also looks in my opinion a hell of a lot better than the new 350 Z. I do feel that the Skyline, especially in it's top forms was the best car made by Nissan, I think the exterior, again, is no match for that of the 300zx.

This is easily my second favorite Nissan ever produced. It's second only to the million dollar R390-GT1,Yes call me crazy but this car looks so good, I like it better than the SkyLine.I know the SkyLine is faster and has more tuning potential but in my opinion SkyLine will never look this good and besides the 300ZX tt isn't exactly slow either. Also I like this better than the new'350Z' as well, again in my opinion this looks cooler than the new Z too. This is just such a great car,I can't say enough good things about it,but long live the Z32~!
 The early Z's are better

The 240Z is one of the greatest Japanese sports cars, it is still highly competitive in race and rally, the 260z and 280zx continued with its clean, classic looks despite getting bigger. Why do car makers feel the need to make new models bigger and heavier. 1500kg is too heavy for a sports car, even with extra power the weight makes the handling and breaking worse. Why did nissan dump a beautiful srtaight six and use a turbo v6. A straight six is better balanced and can rev higher and last longer than a v6 (look at the skylines). A highly tuned 3l straight six could produce similar power, produce instant throttle response and make a very quick track car, if it wasnt too heavy.

i dunno where you people are living, but the picture shown is a japenese spec 2 seater. it hasn't got aftermarket anything on it. however it is a series 3 or greater (94+) because it has the raised spoiler. most probably a twin turbo jobi... have a look at www.aus300zx.com or www.twinturbo.net

You have stated the hp of the 300zxtt as 276, while this may be somewhat accurate as it pertains to the later models. The early and mid 90 versions were produced with a solid 300 hp.

"... the above statistics are now accurate for the VG30DETT powered 300ZX Turbo. Note that other cars like the Porsche 911 Turbo and Supra Turbo also use the twin turbo configuration but are branded from the factory as simply ""Turbo"", so the labelling of the car as 300zx Turbo is not a misnomer."""
 Your statistics are wrong.

Nissan only made the 300zx in TWIN TURBO configuration, as opposed to a single turbo as your title assumes. Also you quoted the figures for the non-turbo 300zx (0-60 in 7.1) instead of putting the correct figure of 0-60 in 5.5 seconds for the twin turbo 300zx. You basically took two completely different cars and said they were the same.

Yeah the photo on the right features a 300zx with an aftermarket bodykit and wheels. It really has no place next to the photo of the original car. Don't get me wrong, some aftermarket kits look awesome on certain cars, but on a site that features the cars in factory form I feel the image is not representative of Nissan's work with the original car.

Growing-up I had my favourite cars - ones I just thought were amazing. When the 300ZX was launched, I thought it just eclipsed every other car I'd ever seen before in terms of it's beautiful lines and sporty stance....and that admiration stuck for years (sad eh?!). I've been a Skyline GT-R fan for the past 4 years though, but still have a soft-spot for the 300ZX. That photo on the right (above) - urghh, gastly!! The photo on the left is sweet though, nice in black.
