Plymouth XNR |
oldthudman 08-14-2012 |
The XNR was one of Exner's more quirky (Chrysler) concept/dream cars........It's asymmetrical and open 'cockpit' design was more race car than daily driver......The fender flairs did show up on the 1960 Plymouth Valiant........... The Plymouth Belmont was more successful IMHO......... It's ashamed that more Chrysler Exner concepts from the 50's didn't survive.... The K-310, C-200, & Desoto Adventurer 1 (one) are no where to be found.......Survivors are the D'Elegance, 3 of the Fire Arrows (#1 was only a styling buck), Plymouth Explorer, At least one Falcon... |
50s/60s Chrysler Corp. styling |
David Thompson 08-13-2012 |
Wouter, you're too young, and European besides, to have suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous Chrysler Corporation styling. When their styling moderated, their quality control disappeared. I'm afraid that what I see in the Plymouth XNR is all the worst. Thank you for the memories, though. |
