It looks like tentacles are protruding from the front wing.

That actually look like their 2011 front wing...

They typically don't do the "launch car" with anything "new". The only thing you can get off these presentation is layout, wheelbase, and anything that you can't make fit on between the old and new tub...
The odd sidepod is gone, and they are using some odd looking wheel...

Sidepods are still kind of odd...
Today's launches:
Force India VJM05
Ferrari 633
Force India looks better put together than Ferrari, in terms of looks alone. Ferrari's double intake on top looks interesting, though. Getting used to those duck noses already. Let's try to consider them a new and interesting addition to F1 design.
They are new, they aren't interesting, and they are absolutely hideous.

Lotus E20 is out. And guess what I think? It's the best looking car so far. That duck nose fits it just perfectly and doesn't look as ugly as Ferrari or Caterham nose. Well done, Enstone...
P.S. No quality pictures yet AfAIK, so I've just expressed my thoughts with no photos...

Yes, best looker so far, even with the new rule in effect...looks better than the relatively normal McLaren....might be the JPS inspired paint job and all...
No surprises though, I kinda don't think it'll be a winner, even with Kimi at the wheel...

I know faksta back in the day was a Kimi fan (pre-Petrov?), not sure if you are any more.
I am not expecting much, but I would very much like to be pleasantly surprised.
I will be following Kimi this year indeed - glad he's back, always liked him. I was waving for him since his very first year for Sauber - that story with giving young guy a license for just 4 races raised a huge interest to him from my side, especially when he arrived in points in his first race.
I have never been Petrov fan, though, I was just happy that a Russian guy could fight his way to F1, even though he was always considered just a wallet. Still think he's fast, but just not enough to match F1 front runners - look at his races in GP2 - he was Kobayashing back then. Everyone expected too much from him, given he was not much interested in F1 personally. And after all, since his appearance on top level Russia got: a number of new tracks including Sochi F1 race in plans, formula series back (we've got none since 2008), young drivers getting to international level (look at WSR alone), international series coming to us (same WSR, GT1/GT3, ETRC). Maybe just a coincidence, of course, but somehow I doubt that. What he shouldn't do this year is to try to stay in F1. I thought they would almost surely try to get into WEC, but now seems they're not interested at all...
And the RB8. Only one picture so far, hard to judge...

I think the Lotus(Renault) is still the same ugliness now that its in the wild...their JPS paintjob and the launch event lighting hides it well, but the step is as pronounce as everybody else's....

Ouch... so, if anyone needs a good photographer, look for a guy who made E20 presentation shots
Also, now that we've seen E20 in action, the new leader in terms of looks for me is Sauber.
Seriously? Only because the black nose make the duck beak less obvious...
I don't know, as far as the implementation of the new rule goes the Lotus(Renault, I am still not used to call it just Lotus) still look more "acceptable".....from some angle it doesn't look that bad...
Also worth pointing out that apparently the E20 used in the launch presentation is not the same as the car they ran..
