Wrong, the Skyline R34 GTR WRC has around 1405 hp and 1200 ft/lbs of tourqe at the wheels.

Are we talking real cars (Escudo excepted) or computer games here. What about a 1980 VC Commodore with a 304 stroked to 373cu, twin turbo, 1206hp at wheels. A real car.

Speed Freak ur a dik head... there is no wrc gtr..... and if there was 1404hp is way to much, and prob wont be permitted to race!!!!!!! so shutup!!!!!!!!!!
YOU ARE A FOOL! THERE IS NO R34 WRC CAR
IDIOT
Hachi Roku Owner.
The three most powerful cars interms of potential are the nissian skyline, toyota supra, and mazda rx-7. The turbos of these cars can b modiffied to gag these engines with boost, enof to make over 1000hp. The fastest of these 3 is the skyline. The skyline has plenty of displacment, plenty of boost, and most of all, 4 wheel drive to get it to the road. Well certian examples of supras or rx-7's may have more hp, thell b doing a burn out while the skyline rips up the track. Two other cars steeping up to the plate are the mitsubishi evolution, and the subaru impreza WRX. Well these cars are at a disadvange with 4 cylinders, compared to there six cylinder and rotary powered siblings, they are the play ground to a new generation of tuners, eager to c just how fast a rice rocket can go. As for the comment about the civic.....you simply can just add more and more nitrous to a car. The intake and exaust manifolds are simply to restrictive for a high flow engine. Not only that but the increases compustion temperatures and pressures would turn a civic engine block to a granade.
Wrong, when you put a $90,000 turbo on it, it has almost 1900hpOriginally posted by SpeedFreak

I luv cheesecake TG
Playstation has a lot to answer for. A whole generation of kids growing up thinking they need to get "stage three turbos". When you talk about Skylines and Supras you need to be clear if you are talking about standard models 200- 240kw or hotted up one offs. Sure you can put larger intercoolers, bigger/multiple turbos, cannon exhausts etc. You can do that to a V8 too and the result will invariably see off a smaller 6 or four. Skylines and Supras are great cars but they bot the all conqering beasts that Gran Turismo leads you all to believe.

when it comes to racing tho, japanese cars have a deffenate advantage over there american counter parts. Sure mustang with a super charger can make alot of power, but try getting it all to the ground threw just 2 wheels. Not just that, but the added wieght of the v8 engine blocks in the front of the cars makes them slower and harder to control then japanese cars.
Alloy V8s dont give up too much more in weight and it comes down to the overall balance and set up of the car. AWD adds to the weight also and while an advantage in tight tracks is of little advantage through sweeping curves.

AWD is an advantage any where, strait away, curves, off road, on the track, 4 wheels is better then 2. The only exception would be drifting and burnouts.
More moving parts and weight can not be an advantage everywhere. Also a lot easier to bog down when taking off in standard form. A little wheel spin is a good thing. Thats if you can drive properly in the first place.Originally posted by WasteG8

what are you talking about? wheel spin is horrible, wheel spin is a waste of energy, the energy that your engine is making, and the energy that should go to moving the car, not to heating up rubber and making smoke.
That would be excessive wheel spin. When you dump the clutch something has to give. If the wheels dont spin, the clutch or torque converter will, If it doesnt the engine will immediatly loose some of the revs you have built up. Its a question of balance. Mild wheel spin will keep the revs at the peak power output so thats its just a matter of regaining traction. Watch a drag car.Originally posted by WasteG8

watch drag racing, a stock second gen talon AWD turbo beat a supra TT in a quater mile.....y?.....its all about getting the power to the ground, and keeping it there.
Well thats one race anyway. Driving real cars is not like playing Gran Turismo. 4 wheel drive is not the answer to everything.
