    Bathurst 1000 gathering 2005:

    hokay; story so far:

    blue_supra, fpv_gtho and myself-

are organising a gathering at the supercheap auto bathurst 1000 v8 race.
the plan so far because of our locations, would be good for simon and i to meet up on a train to lithgow (which goes through fpv_gtho's location). from there we would bus into bathurst and camp on site. as far as i am aware any others that wish to meet up with us can, and dont worry, we wont bite - hard.. This to me seems the most logical way to go about it, we would be staying most probably for two of the four days of the races. any aussies have previous experiances? and knowledge will help. motels etc are pretty much out of the question because we wont have a car, and motels and hotels etc will be booked solid.
    any help please

You have to pre-book your campsites at the bottom of the mountain, dont know about the top,Im planning on going in 2006. My nephews and their mates are taking our camp spot this year, try and have a shower early morning, and try and have a shit before 10 am or after the toilets have been cleaned and empty, they can be quite horrendous .You will have a ball,we never left the mountain, but theres shuttle buses and taxis for getting around.Take good sleeping gear as it gets f--king cold, I found out the hard way.

yeah, weve seen the bookings, we can get from these sites still left:

Max Cameron Located behind Holden Corner, close to Harris Park $105

Reid & Sulman Located between Hankook Cutting and the Skyline at the top of the Mountain $140

personaly i would prefer the top of the mountian, but apparently thats where the bogans hide (aussie steriotype)
