    Legend Fires NW stages

    Well i thaught i might aswell post this in my free time,

    this is a rally that is running in 5 days near me, its run by our rally cluband im one of the mrshalls on it

    the landies only compete on a few events per year, they are Army landies

    There's a short wheelbase Landie with a stonking tuned BIG V8 in that competes in the NESCRO classic rallies. The guy does extremely well on the tarmac sections if they are wet, very twisty or uphill !! The angle of lean on corners is pretty terrifying though

    One of the funny things is that we tried to get colin Mcrae for course car i can just see him racing down the prom a wee bt too fast an ending up in the sea anda s us marshalls are not allowed to go in after them we could be knownas the guys who killed colin

    Shame you coudln't get him. He has an Escort with the engine, suspension and running gear of a Subaru shovelled in. Pretty fast by all accounts !!!

    yeah we were discussing that at the club the toher night, one of the guys had been upto scotland to see his rally school or whatever it is, Colin let a few of them go out in his 6R4 but he wouldnt let anyone touch the Mk2 he loves it so much, therofre im guessing that he ouldnt be using that as a course car

    DAMN. NOW a mate tells me of this ......
    Colin McRae will be attending the launch of the 2005 Scottish Rally Championship on Monday 31st January in the Trossachs.

    This series has remained a firm favourite of McRae who contested the Championship in 1986.

    The former World Rally Champion will be behind the wheel of his Escort Mk11 and will be demonstrating to attending journalists the thrills of rallying.
