Lotus claim that but if you ever own one its not trueOriginally Posted by Rijoh
A friend of mine has a scooby, fabia and octavia VRS and an elise,
Lotus claim the same sort of 0-60 times as the scooby but in truth its nothing near he also said that the fabia was a better car than it and not for things like carrying luggage just a better driving car
the only one of those he said the else was better than was the octavia
Cedric - I sound like a chipmunk on there. Some friends of mine were like, "were you going through puberty?" I was like, no I was already 20, I just sound like a girl.

I quite like this car, but at 860kg isn't it a tad heavy for what a base Lotus should be?

Haven't uploaded them yet, plus with it sitting in the showroom the pics won't be great.Originally Posted by Sauc3

The US DOES receive the 111r. That was kinda the whole point of the 'Yota engined 'R', to get an engine that would pass all the necessary tests for the American market. Given that this new model is essentially the same as the 111R but with a detuned version of the 1.8litre engine, I see no reason why they couldn't sell it in America.Originally Posted by F1_Master

I don't think it will get here because the safety regulation waiver won't allow another car other than the Elise that we currently get or else it voids it completely and the sale of the Elise will stop and the other car will be prohibited. That's why the Europa won't come here. Then again this is based on the same platform so I guess it probably could. It's quite complicated.Originally Posted by CHEESE-TACULAR
I don't think that a 130bhp lightweight(ish) sportscar with a 0-60 time of nearly 6 seconds would really sell in America. The 111R and the Exige on the other hand are fast enough to be able to run with much more exotic machinery and thus are worth all the incovenients for americans.Originally Posted by NSXType-R

According to Lotus USA web site neither of the available Lotus cars are the 111R.Originally Posted by Jack_Bauer
You can order different appearance and suspension packages but the Elise and Exige sold here both have the 190hp engine.
The 190bhp Elise is known as the 111R here.Originally Posted by Dino Scuderia

they are the same car, just here the regular elise is actually the 111R. to help it appeal to doubters of cars with 120hp. i hope they do sell it because i would try to get a dealer test-driven example
Don't bother me, I'm probably working while posting...
