Both have some good drag racing material.

I'll give it to Chevy for the LS1 though.

    Keith Black isn't it?

Or at least the last time I had any more than a passing interest in drag racing he did.

I think someone needs to point out that most, if not all, competitive NHRA Top Fuel teams use MOPAR Hemi blocks. So truly, it could be argued that Dodge is the king of the strip.

But for the average Joe weekend warrior, SBC is the way to go. Parts are readily available, the motors are bulletproof, and there's lots of ways to make big power.

If this is Chevy VS. Ford, why is there a Firebird in there?

    MOPAR >> all > Ford

Why argue over whose the best of the second rate? Chevy only wins here because of Fords are even worse. The only good Ford is the GT, Ford doesn't belong on the drag strip.

I was refering mainly to the muscle cars, as those are whats shown in the pics at top of thread (excluding Firebird) and NHRA has always been dominated by Dodge/Mopar. There is no modern drag racer like there was in the 60s and i find most modern (american) cars repulsive to some degree.

Chevy all the way! Forget Dodge, give me a Chevelle SS LS6 for drag racing.
