    need help settling a dispute

I recently bought a 2003 VW Jetta GLI with the VR6. A buddy of mine says that his automatic 2004 mustang convertible with the V6 is faster. There aren't any tracks near by to test it out, and I couldn't find any useful stats. Anyone know which is faster 0-60, top end, or handles better?

I'm going with your Jetta. Tried to find figures but not too much luck. Your car would probably handle better, straight-line speed I'm not too sure of and the top-end would probably lie in your favor.

    V6 Mustang faster?

At first I thought it was a V8 and was looking for specs on the Jetta, but now that I know it doesn't really matter, specs are not needed, the Jetta is probably a quicker car.

Jetta, the Volkswagon VR6's are faster than the mustang.

According to reports the Mustang handles 6,843C/ib˛ whilst the Jetta handles 2.2p/φ/sł which of course is the standard metric measurement.
    Thanks for all the fish

The Jetta has FWD with crude rear-suspension (new Jetta only now came out with multi-link units), so don't be too sure that it'll be streets ahead of the Mustang. Does the '04-spec Mustang have a live rear-axle? I'm not sure, but if it does, then it'll be the Jetta I think. Hands down.
