The new '06 ZO6 just made a 7 minute 40 second lap. Here is a small article that a German magazine wrote.

Just won the Le Mans GT!-Class, Jan Magnusson pushed the pedal at the Nürburgring. With the Corvette Z06 should the old record fallen - spicy advertisement for the new Sport-Corvette. But more than just(!) 7 minutes 40 seconds was not to archive. The Nordschleifen(northern track)-Record for not modified cars is still with the Donkervoort RS: 7.18.01!

7:40! Thats one second slower than the Koenigsegg! Congrats to Chevy!

erm, THIS was a race-prepped, lightened and setup 'vette.
The Pagani was stock off the production line IIRC

The koenigsegg was just stock used. They said if they made the Koenigsegg setup for the rings corners then they can do under 7:30. Well congrats to Chevy for being able to go under 8 mins.

it's a fully race prepped car.
It is NOT cheap

Not pouring cold water on the good time, but just gentle reminder that comparing apples and oranges doesn't help opinion.

I'll buy the ZO6, keep my 500-600k, then buy a CGT. Then I'll buy an Exige if I have anything left. (IIRC, CGT: 440k, Pagani Zonda S: 700k?, ZO6, about 70k?, Exige: 50-60k, depending.)
