let me guess, cheap plastic feel? thats what most others thought, although having one of the many laughs that i do reading through the LS1 forums, a fair few people there who own SV6's actually like the buttons, and being able to play around with them

Yeah they felt like to be honest they might brake if used to hard. And if i was useing them in my hoon mode I would get heavy on them and brake them easy

Born around 1956, pushbutton shifters have long since reached retirement age and been put out to pasture, so I guess it's time for Holden to adopt this 'latest' high tech idea

Someone probably has broken them, the idiots at Drive.com.au somehow managed to brake the sequential shifter in the first BA they test drove, then had the hide to have a mega whinge about it, despite Ford finding out they were dong some crazy shit with it

All these dudes that test the cars somehow find ways to brake things, You have to wonder if they go out of there way to brake things, Maybe depends how they wake up on the day maybe they got none the night before and are not in the best moods out there

I've owned two local Chryslers with pushbutton shifters, the 1960 AP3 (black with fins) and a shift-kitted '63 AP5 (full 'manual' selection). Both worked well, were lit at night and a reliable design. Btw Packard & Edsel also had automatics featuring 'the typewriter' with the latter's buttons even located within the steering wheel
