You just got your permit ? How long before you get your license ? For $2000 you can get an OK car... Autotrader people tend to price there cars a lil high. Plus you won't find much for $2000 in there anyways. You'll find the best deals in the newspaper under Used Cars or something like that.

Doesn't really matta what car you get right now since all you got is $2000. A honda would be your best bet but if you can find a 240 in that range, do it to it. Just make sure its in good shape and have a mechanic check it out before you buy it.
