I'm not a real big fan, but I really enjoy Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series.
Tom Clancy and Dean Koontz are among my fav authors
Im like drakkie on this one. The only time I ever read books is when they are required for school. Even then I don't read them, I just go online and find summarys for each chapter of the book and read those.Originally Posted by drakkie
Many good authors around:
Easy airplane stuff: Ken Follett, Tom Clancey, (Follett better)
Serious Stuff: Tolkien of course
Funny stuff: Tom Sharpe, Terry Pratchett, (less funny though) Kurt Vonnegut,
SF: Jack Vance, Larry Niven. I did read Stanger in a strange land long time ago but I am not a fan of Heinlein's political views (too militaristic). Asimov I read, but again ages ago and no urge to read them again.
Recently: Hitchikers guide to the galaxy, and Nick Hornby stuff
Not any Potter so far.
Best and funniest SF writer ever: Erik Frank Russell.

Isaac Asimov's books are quite a good read I think.
I'm going to take my local liberary on ransom and steal all the books mentioned here. Bloody reading fanatic. I see some seriously goodstuff here.
Not long finished the Janson Directive by Robert Ludlum. Currently reading Rainbow Six by you-know-who.
On my pile of books I'm planning on getting through soonish are:
Teeth of the Tiger by Clancy
The Tristan Betrayal By Ludlum
Immediate Action by McNab
I read all Dan Brown's stuff not long ago. Not bad, but DVC is overrated, Angels and Demons is a better story.

Orson Scott Card's Treason is also a very good sci-fi novel.
The Harry Potter Series are good books, although the movies are quite bad. Where the Red Fern Grows is a really good book. I mostly read stuff on the internet. I might start reading the Da Vinci Code, heard it was a really good book. A Brief History of Time, and The Universe in a Nutshell are excellent books. I guess it depends on what stuff you're interested in.

I swear I didn't know a fictional character in the Harry Potter series wrote a book.Originally Posted by VtecMini
