I believe your experience is what counts but, in fact, a friend of mine recently bought himself a 94 320i coupé. He claims the car doesn't drink more than 10 liters per 100kms. The 325i easily drinks over 13...

Whatever they drink they're so good to drive and so cheap nowadays, that they are always a nice investment.

Parents own a 95 328i Sedan. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Servicing is a bit of a pricey experiance however.

i agree service on bmw is too expensive. if 2000 is your budget, im not sure if u really want to spend it on a old car that would probably cost just as much to service it.

    I thought the 325i was replaced with 328i in late 96-early 97?

Oh, and if you think servicing costs are expensive for BMW, you'll be in for a nasty surprise when you take an Audi in for servicing...

But the BMW is much better value for money, and if you buy it good and treate it right, it's as much or even more reliable than the Audi.

E30 325is is an awesome car! One of the most underrated cars ever in my opinion. Quattro Man, what Audi are you driving now?
