    Our smashed RX8:(

Tonight at about 7pm, on the way driving home from work, my dad got T boned while driving his RX8 by a dude in a '96 VR4.....

Luckily no one was hurt except fot the cars

The dude who hit him was a young driver, on his learner licence, with a passenger(illegal) and NO INSURANCE!

so sorta a worse case scenario there

Well, i know how you all like pix, but there is only one so far and here it is... pretty wasted really

Andthe passenger rear wheel has sorta snapped off and is under the car from hitting the kurb. the rear window also popped half out, suggesting some chassis damage... the funny thing is... no airbags went off:S im sure it has side entrusion...

    RIP RX8

EDIT:the asian dude in the photo is the dude who hit the car

sorry to hear that m8, that guy who hit you is one hell of a turd, i'd rip him a new one if i were you, but then again if you did that you'd probably be in the locker. Glad that no one was injured, be thankful for that, but saying that, im sorry to hear about the RX8, hope you get it fixed asap.

I think the Asian guy is in way bigger shit than you, right? I mean, he's driving without insurance and a passenger. I assume he will gonna have to pay the whole thing?

No, so long as he wasn't speeding he was doing nothing wrong. We all know speed is the only cause of any accident.

Recently, using a court case I found in my local paper, I figured out that it is actually cheaper to drive without any insurance than it is to drive legally. Seriously. This guy got pulled up in front of the Magistrates (The People's Court in the US I think) and was handed about £400 worth of fines for driving with no licence, no MOT, no insurance and no Tax. Some of these were multipal counts. I on the other hand have a pretty clean licence, no crashes to my name and a slow car and I was fined about £900 this year by the same government/my insurance company for driving my car completely legally. Nice one, Labour - was to deter offenders, make it cheaper to commit crime.

Sorry about the motor btw, glad everyone is ok.

In a head on collision at 30mph with an older model of the same car, the new Espace won't deploy any airbags – the crumple zones are so good, it doesn't need to. That's like hitting a wall at 60mph.
