Altima SE-R = 6.1 seconds
Mazdaspeed 6 = 6.2 seconds

I think i would take the Mazdaspeed 6. No particular reason, i just like the car.

How much do they weigh, because the mazda, according to those figures, should really woop butt, but it actually slower.

I came very close to buying the Mazda, then I drove the Altima and fell in love with it. Don't get me wrong I liked the Mazda but it was just to small in comparison and felt a little cheap. It hauls ass... just like the Altima, but for the money, there is no other choice...ALTIMA.

Let me add that I would not spend the money on the SE-R though. I bought a 2006 Altima SE 3.5 5-speed ($23k), put a couple bucks into an intake and suspension and will run with nearly any SE-R out there...and spent 7000 less.

I would get the MazdaSpeed because I like the fact that it's an AWD car. It wasn't a choice but I would get the Subaru Legacy 2.5 if I were getting any of these cars.

inthe new car and driver issue they rated the mazdaspeed6at a 5.4 0-60 ( mazda tweaked it a bit)

altima SE-R. nicer styling better engine more power mroe mod ability looks nicer. c'mon nissan is really good now. VQ35DE rules.

Where did you get those times for the mazdaspeed 6? because theres alot of guys running under 14 seconds stock. a 13.9 is easily obtainable by a good driver. And another member of the mazda6forums.com has run a 13.7 running on 101 octane gas.

the 6 all the way...Altima is FWD but the 6 is AWD. Plus...doesn't the 6 have more power? the Altima just doesn't hit my spot.

I say dump them both and go for a MSP3. But if i had to chooze, i would take the Altima on the account that its got the VQ. But the FWD lay out turns me off... On second thought.... I JUST DONT KNOW >_<!!;;
