The new one is a bit of both, but more van like than the previous P5.

i've been looking at them over here in Canada, and found them to be the cheapest vehicles available that carry 6 ppl. they start at less than $20,000, compared to the Freestar at $22ish, and the Sedona at $23ish.

it's def not as big as the MPV. bout halfway between the Mazda 3 Sport and the MPV.

one cool advantage though, Manual Tranny! in a minivan, i love it. we're actually considering one since our family is growing to five soon.

Vans all have the sliding doors. So, wagon. It's a nice runabout errand car, like so many tall wagons before it.

It does have sliding doors! Maybe you were thinking of the '04 Protege5 (referring to 5 doors).

Yes I was. This then is a Van. A small one. I haven't seen any on the road yet but It looks like a very versatile design. It should sell well, however, I don't know it the love of the butch cute-utes is over.

as much of a supercar and power fanatic as i am, we have no choice but to consider efficiency these days. i have a Mazda 3 and have been thrilled with it. 1.5 yrs now and just over 64,000km (40,000miles). i'd buy another in a heartbeat, so the 5 makes complete sense when we need more space.
