    Nose-heavy cars

Are nose heavy cars per se understeerers? What are the direct and demonstrable consequences of such a car?

Nose heavy are not necessarily equal to understeery car. I'd imagine those car will actually be prone to oversteer during corner entry, as the rear are almost completely unloaded.

Audis in general have the engine mounted quite far fowards.

I thought the boxter was nose heavy but it turned out that it was just reversing.

it will certainly depend on the type of drivetrain. Spontaneous throttle lifting during cornering in an understeering FWD car can result in vicious oversteer.

Yes, happened to me once in a Celica. I was taking a roundabout at max cornering speed and lifted off to see what would happen, all of a sudden I was gawking at the statue that adorns the centre of that roundabout!!! I have never tried this again, and I feel more at ease driving an RWD car that's better balanced

but where you have to be careful to put all the power on, unless of course the car is fitted with all sorts of electronic gadgets to keep it under control.

You don't need 500 bhp to be fast, it's all down to traction and suspension remember

Well actually you DO need horsepower to be fast, a 100 hp car might do 0-60 very quickly but it would lack in top speed.
