    Actually that's not an Audi R8, it's a Norma M20 3L: http://www.fastroadandtrack.co.uk/fr....php?adid=3293

Better pic attached, does look like an R8 from the camera perspective.

Edit: Holy ****! It's powered by a 3 liter BMW M3 engine, hence the 3L designation.

yeah, the size should have given it away
The R8 is a BIG car (and not JUST relative to the tiny hill-climbers.)
There are many hill climb corners a Le Mans beast would NEVER get round - even if they TRIED 3 point turns

PS: Superb driver, very VERY smooth and precise

In the first picture is that thing behind the drivers head just below the roll bar a camera? lol, you can tell just how much I know about racing.

I thought the cam was on the drivers helmet.

Either that or an electric gizmo, most likely used to calculate lap times, g-forces, speed, accel/decceleration, etc.

It's a camera, that white car in the pic is the same exact car as in the video.

yes. In a shock mount case to reduce the vibration. ( Oddly THEN stuck on an arm to get a better view - which makes it worse )

Hillclimb cars carry sensors for the timing system. It's a small tag box that mounts and is used at intermediate and finish line to detect and capture the timing. These are supplied BY the organisers and plugged in on the day.

Cameras on helmets seldom work well as a drivers head is getting thrown around a LOT. They also look into corners, mirrors etc which causes large head movements that WILL induce nausea if you watch it on a big screen
