    Porsche PCCB problems ?

Having talked to some people who expressed being disappointed with Porsche P.C.C.B. (noting Ferrari owners with similar problems on cost, performance and wear), has anyone any experience with System ST ( www.ultimatecarpage.com ) ? They claim to have improved performance, lower cost and better wear characterstics on CFRC Carbon Ceramic Brakes than the OEM systems on offer, and are working with some OEM's now but offer systems for a number of cars (Porsche and Ferrari included amongst others). Any feedback anyone ?

ive read about at least one case of them shattering, and since it was on track (even though it was a track-oriented GT2) porsche wouldnt honor the warranty.

That's fair, the temperatures you will run up on track WAY exceed what you could achieve on the open road.

I've read that the styling on the 996 Porsce's didn't give enough cooling to the brakes and owners were experiencing massive over heating and brake fires

well it obviously wasnt the design of the 996, since they launched the the PCCB-2 rotors (the ones with the highly publicised problems were the first generation, PCCB-1) which are compatible on the 996, they have a small dime sized circle of the old material inplanted, and when that spot glows red, you need to stop for a while hehe

Cool, I didnt know that, but when would you know if there was a small red spot on the brakes? Surely you'd be too busy racing around a track!

apparently your just supposed to check whenever you're out of the car, nothing urgent, since its all a new material except the small spot

So you only know that the brakes are getting hot once the rotor glows. Wouldn't a temperature gauge make more sense? The glow thingy sound a little ricey.
