Rolex Daytona 24 Hour snooze fest

Who's going to watch the ugliest race cars ever go around a boring circuit?

I could watch I suppose if it had cool cars in it like it used too....but I hate the Daytona Prototypes.

Last year average speed 98mph! You can see that on the freeway!

I just want the track for GTR, but it needs permission.

    I may watch it.

is there a special rule about roof heights/ head space? These cars look like eggs.

Yeah, that's the part I hate most. They were designed by the NASCAR people...originally intended as a possible replacement for NASCAR several years ago...now the France family runs this silly series.

Like NASCAR it's a driver's series now......and Rolex is usually where the most driver shows up. From your day to day US sportscar regulars, to Indycar drivers, to NASCAR drivers.....

Racing is still good in the series though, even if the cars are ugly....

I liked it a lot more when LMP cars were allowed to race

the most drivers show because there is no racing going on yet. As mentioned before it would be great to see the real heavyweights of the sportscar racing world race there. the R10- RSR, C6R, ect ect

It certainly will be hard though to have 33 LMP car on Daytona 24's grid.....seeing how most ALMS races struggle to fill their grip to have more than 30 cars in TOTAL......the racing was decent for the 24, pretty close too with winner only won by a lap and all the usual endurance race problems for all...and Porsche factory drivers are something else entirely....too bad the CV problem drop them back twice...

Oi CSL, isn't she like the hottest chef ever? (Your Avatar)

As for the racing, I'd have to say that between the Rolex series, and the ALMS, I'd take the ALMS anyday. I know that they have a hard time to fill the grid, but I just love the racing more.

I know, it was great seeing ALMS GT-1 cars win the race overall back in 2000 and 2001.
