I hope everybody enjoyed the enormous smile on the podium produced by Kimi after his impressive performance

So that's what you call a smile, eh?
I liked the bit of hip-dancing performed by Alonso.
It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

That was nice shuey smiling and shaking every1s hands at the end, or was he hiding his frustration. But the race was more enjoyable than some of last seasons.
Button really put some effort in so maybe this season hell finally get his win.
Lets just hope the rest of the season will be this enjoyable.

I think someone had just told him that with Bahrain being a Muslim country there was no proper booze on the podium, just fizzy grape juice!Originally Posted by henk4

Was a really enjoyable race. I think each team is punching very hard, a lot of stellar performances. The mind boggles over how Kimi, with all those back markers, still managed to make it to 3rd! Montoya, in the same car, was still 5th!!!! Congrats to Renault and Alonso.
Porsche!
he is just such a great ambassodor for the sportOriginally Posted by derekthetree

Seems a little harsh to me, he was defending his position on the racing line. Coulthard was being a little desperate trying to cling on round the outside. Still, no serious punishment so I guess it doesn't really change anything.By Jonathan Noble Sunday, March 12th 2006, 16:33 GMT
Nick Heidfeld has been reprimanded by the race stewards for driving David Coulthard off the track during their fight for position at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The two drivers were locked in a battle on lap 15 of the race when they ended up side-by-side through Turn One. Coulthard tried to retake the lost position around the outside of Turn Two but Heidfeld drifted wide and forced his Red Bull Racing rival wide across the asphalt run-off area.
Both drivers were summoned to see the Stewards after the race and Heidfeld was subsequently blamed for the incident and warned about his conduct.
A statement issued by the FIA said: "The Stewards, after hearing the explanation of both the drivers and viewed video recording of the incident, determine that the driver Nick Heidfeld was involved in an incident as defined by Article 52 of the 2006 Formula One Sporting Regulations in that he forced the car driven by David Coulthard off the track.
"The Stewards accordingly reprimand the driver of car number 16 Nick Heidfeld."

You are not allowed to "cling on the racing line" if side by side.Originally Posted by Jack_Bauer

AS far as I'm aware, it's NOT on the first corner, but on the subsequent where he moved over giving DC the choice to go off circuit and possibly crash or brake heavily and give up the space.
It's always the biggest issue in any post race stewards complaints at every meeting in every formula
Having seen the tv coverage, DC COULD perhaps still have found space into the apex, but it would have been VERY risky and may well have resulted in both ending up off. I think they may have decided the way the have so they can in future penalise drivers for banzai moves -- as DC's attempt to protect his position woudl have looked like !!
