    Dunlop Tyre Test at Estoril

    On Saturday, many sportscar teams were on the Estoril circuit, conducting tests for Dunlop. Teams present includeded the Race Alliance Aston Martin, both Chamberlain Lola’s (B06/10 and B05/40), Reiter and B-Racing Lamborghinis, Lister Storm LMP and both PSI Corvettes (C5-R and C6.R).

    Paul Belmondo Racing has switched to Mecachrome V8 power and Pirelli tyres. I understand the engine switch but why would Paul Belmondo switch tyres when the Michelins are so good for prototypes?

    The tree huggers got their way and the Monza event is off the calender. For now there is only the WTCC and F1 events planned at the legendary track this year. We visited the track last year and were hugely impressed and were looking forward again to going there again. To save the track please vote on this petition!!

    The Chamberlain Synergy Lola B06/10 proved to be a strong runner at the tests, to only be narrowly beaten for 3rd overall on the timesheet by the Pescarolo C60. The performance of the Swiss Spirit Courage LC70s was rather disappointing, they were both beaten by LMP2s. But the factory LC70s showed a strong performance This year might be another year of Lola dominance in LMP2 but the Pilbeam MP93 seemed like it was doing a lot better this year and could be a main competitor to the B05/40s
