There is too much slander floating around as it is, it's good when someone gets caught. Nothing personal against you but slandering people is about the lowest thing a (non)thinking person can do.

J, don't take these posts as people ganging up on you, learn from it. Think about it and really learn from this. When you/parents meet with the school principal, listen what he has to say. Then make your own statement, something like; "When we made that website it was just in fun, but now I realize that slander is no laughing matter. I deserve this detention (or however they punish you) and would like to personally apologize to the teacher." This will show maturity that even most adults lack...

I got suspended today ....
Me and a friend created a humourous website about our science teacher, to which I posted articles..
The site was purely for comedic purposes, done anonymously... it just happened to mention something about child porn, completely out of context, and they jumped on me like a pack of hungry wolves....
it was spreading through my school pretty quickly and teachers somehow got word of it.. or someone told them Now i have to meet the principal with my parents on monday...

I mean what has happened to free speech in such a "free" and "democratic" country such as this one...
Why can i not write what is on my mind, especially when it is all humourous, and has vbery little to do with anyone....plus its on an anonymous website, outside of my school.....

I'm sure if they had asked me nicely, I would have taken it off... but censorship is going too far....

There is no such thing a free speech when you under 40 or alive and not in the government or seriously rich or a hot women or famous.

You have other piss take programes so what makes it diffeent well you have no power to defend yourself in skool therefore you should never have let them find ouyt it was you.

appologising works, last year i was having a bad day and i got a failing grade on a lab report, called the teacher an "f**king retard" got sent to the principal's office, came back and appologised to the teacher (i really meant it too, explaining how when you cuss it makes you seem uneducated etc. and i honestly meant it, it wasnt bull like alot of people (myself included) would do.)

he said he appreciated it, and as long as i didnt do it again he didnt see any reason why he should report me he was a pretty cool teacher, rode a motorcycle

It amazes me that you consider that somehow publishign it on a web site for EVERYEON to read is somehow LESS of a crime than if you'd only said it to a couepl of mates in teh back of class.

No, that's not what i meant, I'm saying that publishing it with my name on it, to some official print source would have been more of a crime, than on an ANONYMOUS site... with an ANONYMOUS audience....

and yes, i do feel sorry for doing it now...

What exactly is free speech? or what should it be?
And if its not free, then what is the point of having such a concept?

Why should i not allowed to express my opinion without fear.. on the INTERNET...... which has so much crap on it.... .....

And if libel laws are removed from a global source... then no one would be hurt and reputations wouldnt be ruined by crap appearing on the web, which is the whole point of the laws initially....

What is so wrong with writing what i feel

Seriously though, it isn't too cool to slander people, but I do understand it was a joke that one took seriously.
Teens do it here all the time, but they usually don't take the time to make a page about it.

The only time I slander someone is when I expect them to slander me back.

I have to say, whilst it ain't free speech, it seems slightly stupid to suspend you over it...

Someone at my school did that about a fellow classmate, he called him a "cock-munching, dog-****ing wanker", and just got told to take the website down. Hardly seems fair that, after calling your teacher a 'Christmas poo', you get suspended

Although it was a very stupid thing to do, learn from it!
