    Arash Farbound-AF10

The AF10 is the brainchild of founder Arash Farboud, (the man who launched Farboud cars) and looks to sell at some £170,000. Arash has now decided to manufacture cars under his own name after selling Farboud Cars on to Chris Marsh who used to run Marcos.

The carbon-fibre bodied sports car has a steel and carbon-fibre tub at its heart, and uses a 7.0-litre Corvette Z06 engine for motive power, mated to a six-speed Graziano transmission.

Low weight is highly likely, long with zero to 60mph acceleration figures of under four seconds. The shape of thw car will finally be determined by wind-tunnel testing, with the plan of hitting a Vmax of 200mph.

Arash Cars is based at Sawston, a few miles south-east of Cambridge.

Arash Cars was established in March 2006 and has been working on AF10 ever since. The styling drawings were made in March 2005 by Arash Farboud Designs and have since been converted into computer models and aerodynamic CFD mesh models. The chassis was designed over a 6 month period by Ashley Gaunt in association with Arash Cars to package the bodywork and chosen engine.

The company is located in Sawston on the ourskirts of Cambridge. Most testing will be conducted at Millbrooke Proving grounds 20 miles away from the company.

The facility in Sawston Cambridge is equipped with a styling studio, painting booth, carbon lamination room, parts despatch area, Carbon Curing Autoclave Oven and polished epoxy floored car assembly stations. A board room and administration offices are also located at the site.

Their badge is a nice rip-off of the Lamborghini one...

Lack of charisma can be fatal.

That explains why Marcos cars look like swamp-monsters; they are built under the direction of a man named Marsh.

Not that Arash is any better. Why in the **** wouldn't he have put a Farbaud badge on the car? Sure, he wouldn't have sold any cars here in the U.S. with a terrorist's name on the trunklid, but will he sell any worldwide with a name that sounds like the result of sleeping in a patch of poision sumac?

Still, that's a saucy little number he's cooked up. Love the Abarth-esque snorkel.
