Bugatti planning $1.9 million targa Veyron

Bugatti will launch a new $1.9 million version of its Veyron supercar in 2008, according to a published report. Bugatti will make up for the added weight by giving the car a carbon hood and doors — bringing the weight back to down to the coupe's level. While acceleration figures should remain unchanged, top speed will be electronically limited to 217 mph for safety reasons. The aerodynamics of the Targa model will not be suitable for the car's regular top speed of 250 mph, the report said.

Any info on the topic? Since no source is mentioned, I doubt the validity of the information

Meh..personally seems sorta retarded..how much do u have to pay extra..and for a slower car with a much more complicated, not to mention inconvenient roofing system. Just get the regular Bugatti and buy a Porsche Targa..plus keep the change, or spend it on a RANGE ROVER

Godd*mmit, as if these rich guys with Veyron's didn't already show us enough of their money, now they got a TARGA to show more....

Ah, I wonder how many Veyron owners will actually buy this too.

If they build it someone will buy it. Still boggles my mind that someone would want to pay may for something that isnt as fast.

Are they going to add the carbon parts as an option on the normal Veyron?

Also, there was a small article in a MOTOR sidebar that there is an even more powerful GT version coming

It's nice that Bugatti is making this car but why? its pointless, they have the fastest car; so whats the point of a convertable version!

    they just want more money.

Bugatti is what we like to call a company. The goal of any hoping to be successful company is to make money. Therefore Bugatti is making this to make more money (albeit with less expensive models in the future).
