No problem. The cobra goes to a market where the car will most likely be drag raced. Many 03/04 cobras that stay on the IRS will most likely brake. Many of the cars had been converted to solid axle cars using after market rear ends or mach1 rear ends. The more expensive option is different springs, half shafts, and a bunch of other stuff in the IRS.Originally Posted by Mr.Tiv

More information I had no previous knowledge of. I'm not a Mustang guy, id rather have an Escort Rs2000 or something of that nature.Originally Posted by rev440
Do you know how the Mustang handles with the IRS setup?

They handel pretty well defiantly alot better then a Stang GT and a Mach1 but its still no vette. The wheel hop from a full boost launch in 1st gear can be violent as well as a burnout. You really need to be careful with these cars expsecially with a sticky tire if they hook hard say goodbye to your axle.Originally Posted by Mr.Tiv

Okay, you've sparked some interest. Are they expensive or hard to find?Originally Posted by rev440

They made around 18,000 03-04 cobras so no. The 03/04 Cobra has a forged bottom end and a eaton supercharger with 8.5 to 1 compression ratio. The trouble is finding a stock one most of the cars have had pulley chages or ported blowers. The ported blower allows for more boost and the car produces around 515rwhp or 600hp with bolt ons. They run mid to low 20's for a mildy modded car or 30's for a 700hp kb, whipple, or turbo car. The Whipple and Kenne Belle are twin screw supercharges and are much more efficent then the stock eaton. Ive only rode in one Cobra and they run good there very smooth and the torque is crazy. The stock car was rated at around 390hp but some cars even dynoed that at the rear wheels so the car is really somewhere around 430ish with factory freaks being around 440-450.Originally Posted by Mr.Tiv
The 01 cobras can be had for around 15k and are n/a. Im pretty sure there compression is around 10:1. Theres quite a bit of gain just putting the 03/04 cobra head on the car its a good flowing head. There is also quite a bit of gain out of running a 99 cobra cam with a 03/04 cobra head. The 4.6 engine is one of the best sounding on earth.

Thanks, it seems they are out of my range, but hey, at least the roof stays on the car.
