I could see Slicks punching holes through his walls and such after seeing anti-US remarks.

The GT500 is a girl's car. The C6 vette is for posers. Facts.

GT500's have way too much wheelgap to look good.

    C6's are old man cars.

    Facts.

He may well have done, he might just prefer the Euro offerings.

I personally would take an Audi V8 over any of these lumps, regardless of their torque. The Euro engines (AS FAR AS I KNOW), are lighter and get better economy, better hp/l... just my $0.02.

I can appreciate the American muscle, it's very soulful, but I just prefer Euro.

Neither are bad cars, the GT500 is very fast for a 1778kg (from Evo) car and they are both cheap.

The Monaro VXR with the near 500hp power upgrade that is now available is the winner, its cheaper than both, cooler than both, faster than both, handles better than both AND its RHD.
    PPC - Put a V8 in it!

    Correct

I had one in my mirrors at the lights the other day. Scary. It did actually look like some kind of monster.

Yeah bodystripes are the only difference between this and a GT

hp/l means squat, for the last time.
Audi's 4.2L V8 is 430lbs, for comparison the 400hp LS2 is <390lbs undressed(quoted around 440 with accessories). There is a reason these LSx engines are going in small cars, rather an Audi V8s, one being price, the other being size/weight.
Fuel economy? Dont make me laugh, 28+ mpg is easy with LS1/2/6s. (yea go on and cry now about the gearing... They are geared like that because its possible to do so, you can easily drive <1000RPMs without bogging the engine at all.)

Sorry, I'm just curious as to what "accessories" means. Could you elaborate? I'm also extremely interested in where you got the weights of those engines from.

    LS2:

"The weight of the LS2 engine out of the crate with the heavy GM exhaust headers removed is 348 lbs. "
If im not mistaken the manifolds are about 50lbs, I can look around for it if you want.

Interesting. Thanks for backing it up.

The LS1 is technically 1kg heavier than the old S4 V8...
