As several on this thread have said, who knows what the thing will wind up looking like. It's only a mule, after all.

I'm still holding on to hope that the Porsche Panamera will be a coupé, despite a four door mule banging around the Nürburgring. I guess that eliminates me from judgment of any other mule's merits.

Two Pininfarina sketches of the new Maserati Coupe have leaked. The car will actually be presented tomorrow (20 february).

So far it's looking good. I look forward to tomorrow.

If it looks like that, I'm happy.

Those sketches are sweet. Reminds me of a runner's muscles - smal, but very, very powerful and sculpted. It looks like a Quattroporte + the birdcage concept. Someone post the pics when it is presented!

Maserati's also supposed to unveil this year a new car in the spirit of 5000GT, a full blood grand tourer which will probably be based on Quattroporte. So the mule may actually be that car, not the new Coupe/Spyder
It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

If you mean the Quattroporte mules spotted, rumours has it that they might be for the forthcoming Alfa Romeo 169, and that a concept car previewing it might be presented in Geneva.

EDIT It's finally here, the Maserati Granturismo. Apparently it has a 405bhp 4.2-litre V8. And it comes with an automatic gearbox (the same as the Quattroporte's I assume). In my opinion it looks a bit Lexus, and that's not a compliment...

Hmmm, it looks ok in my opinion, but not exactly jaw-dropping stuff. Strangely I think there's a hint of Peugeot 407 Coupe in there, especially the rear three-quarter view...

    Might just be me though.

I'm assuming the engine is the same basic 4.2l from the old GT and the QP but with a few tweaks, right? And is there no option for a manual shift?

I like the rear three quarter, but wish they stayed closer to the original sketches' front half. Why does the hood look like an MC 12?

P.S. I also cannot speak Dutch.

The sketches were promising, the photos are a disappointment.

Why do Maserati always try so hard to make their coupes so nasty?

I like it, I think the front end looks great. But, studio photos almost always look good, I'll have to see what it'll really look like outdoors.

I bet it's the old 4.2-litre V8 with some new bits and pieces.

I think it actually resembles the sketches a lot more than other cars do when they make it to reality.

Wht exactly dont you like about the car?
