Noo It looks so wrong. I was waiting for this car, now I wish I hadn't.

    1. The upcurved tail.
    2. The blunt rear end design
    3. The front that looks like a Spyker (it's not a compliment)
    4. The front and rear ends' design doesn't fit together
    5. Overall it looks less sporty than the previous model but I guess it was to be expected since Fiat took Maserati away from Ferrari and intends to position it as a luxury, rather than sports, brand.

So, it's a good thing the 3200 GT/4200 GT/Coupe/Spider/GranSport is gone. I was getting tired of its looks. But the replacement is veeeery disappointing. I wonder if they'll make the "10,000 cars in 2010" goal", seeing as they didn't succeed with "7,000 cars in 2004".
It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

The proportions of the sketches are totally different to the real car.

The sketches imply that the cabin is pushed back; like the Ferrari 599, Alfa 8C etc, but to make it a 2+2, the cabin is actually quite far forwards, so it looks more like an RX8.

I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem if it were a Mazda, but it is a Maserati...

The DLO in the sketches is a nice rounded shape, with a nice tumblehome, which is replaced by a larger, trapezoidal, upright DLO on the real thing.

The bodyside section has lost the degree of curvature and the interesing sill detail - even if side exhausts are not an option, something of the form could have been retained.

The details of the mask have all changed in terms of size, shape and relation to one an other, from the well resolved sketch into a more awkward reality.

The back end isn't too bad, but again the proportions are different, and the interesting chamfer at the top of the rear windscreen has disappeared

    Where are the boomerangs?

The sketch is misleading - it implies that the car would have been a miniature 599 or cut price 8C - a 2 seat GT that I probably would have considered selling a kidney for.

The reality, whilst sharing features with the sketch, is another ungainly 2+2 Maserati Coupe.

Looks like I'm not going to have to bother with the difficult decision of "right or left" after all.

Bigger version of the profile pic and detail pics. I desperately want to like this car and somewhat I don't. I can't help thinking the Jaguar XK is much more attractive.

EDIT according to Car the GranTurismo is 4880mm long and weitghs 1880kg. Not light then...

Four more pics, including a sketch of the profile. Notice the wing mirror, which in this set of pictures seems to be different from the others.
