    Ford GT now in Australia

The awesome Ford GT is now available in Australia - converted to right hand drive and with full ADR compliance.

[edit] sorry for the repost. I'm not sure but seem to remember reading somewhere that there are three GTs in Oz?

Mustangs are rubbish anyway slick youd be happier in a Ford GT Falcon then a Stang.

    Nope. The S821.

Ford Australia has had a GT for a while, but it just sits in one of their offices and never gets driven.

It may be here, but wont be registered, much like the Enzos, F50s, etc.

Only chance of a registerable car would be to buy and use it outside the country for atleast 12 months then bring it in as a private import. Still not an assurance it will pass even then.

Yep, that'll get you a 996 Turbo or brand new 997, early model 360 and a lot better metal than a GT500.

I cant see why anyone would look at a GT import. As a country, we make some of the best replica GT40's in the world, and you can probably pick up a turn-key car for $120K. Might even get one for $100K minus an engine and gearbox, as alot of them are only 302's with a 5 speed Getrag. $20-$50K should pick up a pretty decent engine and transmission from the US. I know of one particular company that can do a all alloy 6L supercharged V8 based on the 5.4.

The P1 car club has just purchased a GT in RHD and will be bringing it to Australia for use of its members.
