Not here actually. Southern Hospitality ftw.

Also, Sam, why on earth would you carry 150-250 USD at all times? get a credit/debit card. If my wallet ever gets stolen I just call my bank and everything in it is rendered useless.

    Hookers don't take cards.

No, seriously- I pay with cash a lot. It means more if you pay by cash for something- paying by card, you can't see exactly how much you're gunna blow.

I carry 500-600. Cash is far better than credit cards because it's much harder to trace back to you. Also, everyone takes cash.

Oh thats a good reason... what exactly do you buy?

Eh, I live in a city of 5-6,000,000, everyone takes everything.

LoL nice one, about the hookers, just had a good laugh.. I would return the wallet, cash and all. I know so because I've done it before and been fortunate enough to have good people return it to me.

At the autoshow here in Toronto i took along my friend's dad's S-class keys two years ago. Benz has a lounge for owners where they get coffee and desserts and can chill, it's pretty nice. I had the keys in my pocket but everything seems to slip out of my track pants. I was getting up from sitting in an Audi when a little boy came up to me and handed me the S-class keys. I was soo incredibly grateful, having sat in dozens upon dozens of cars that evening had they not been returned the chance that i would find them again would've been non-existant and to lose something like that could've put strain in a great friendship. The innoncence of children is pretty amazing.

Well, my experience too:about ten years ago I lost my wallet in a quite hidden area, where couples ususally go for the hoottest part of a date. Someone found it and left it in the mail box of the post office, during the night. So, we both were happy: I got my wallet back and the person who found it kept anonymous...

    Nope, more like $10.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Read that little slip of paper you get with every purchase. To the right of the word "TOTAL" is a number that equals the cost of said purchase.

You have great english, but you might want to take another look at the meaning of "need"

Ok $8, I checked. Still, sucks to lose $8, nothing I'd lose sleep over though.

That's not what I meant. If you pay for a £120 shirt with a card, then it's just gone off your card, and you don't realise the enormity of spending such a huge amount an item of clothing. However, paying by cash may make you think twice.

I have to agree with this, paying with cash gives you a greater sense of what you're really spending. Paying with credit card, you don't really notice it.

I see your point - i'm hugely spending on my ATM card for the most part - simply because i get free transactions - but i need to learn to carry cash. simply because more places accept it and i have a physical, tangible record of my spending.
