    1964 Aguzzoli Condor

Hand made race car based on engine and chassis of the Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ, the body (very beatiful!) was designed by the sculptor Franco Reggiani.

The car lived only three years beacuse Alfa Romeo didn't want to support it.

    Sometimes he mistakes...

are you sure it is based on a (front-engined) TZ?

well, I would say Tipo 33 Stradale, but the year of build does not fit. It surely looks like a mid (rear?) engined car, otherwise the grills at the rear are ridiculous.

The wheels don't look like the Tipo 33 ones either.

Maybe it has the engine from the Giulia and a bespoke chasis.

No, the engine (first model with Alfa Romeo SZ and second model with Alfa Romeo TZ) was in central-rear position (posteriore-centrale longitudinale).

It was an experiment, in fact the engine "breathed" badly.

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was another car, but has arrived later also!

Excuse me for the delay, but I waste time to translate, I don't know well the English.

no problem, so if I understand you correctly, there were two cars, one based on the SZ, but with the engine move backwards, and the other one based on the TZ? That would indeed mean heavily modified chassis.

I understood that it was the same chasis, but that the engines differed in spec.

    Yes Henk4,
Aguzzoli built a completely new tubular chassis, with help of Carrozzeria Neri e Bonacini, (With a little help also by a young Giampaolo Dallara) and two car (SZ and TZ).

This car was important because it gave the imput to the Alfa Romeo to return to competition race, but the Alfa Romeo at the end chose the Autodelta of Carlo Chiti and then the project of the Aguzzoli's Condor died.

But the SZ was a Giulietta! The name was Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ.
The first Condor have a Giulietta SZ engine (1300 cc) the second was a TZ engine (1570 cc)
