Who's better for a purchase? `00 VW Jetta vs. `00 Mitsubishi Galant?

I'm about to buy a used car soon... either a vw jetta or a galant... but ill need a lil bit of help... i`m one of those guys who likes racing and stuff... so i wanna know what of these 2 vehicles will be the better for me... if somebody could help i'll appreciate it

also i was trying to see if i can open up my range of possibilities maybe somebody can give me some more options between 5 - 7 grand

I'd go for the galant, it's a beatifull car, and yes, there are manuals, i've never heard of an auto one... not here at least

00' Jettas are ugly.. and girly. Galants are nothing special and probably break down like every other Mitsubishi

i can go for a Impreza, Evo or a RSX... old ones... but, they suck a lot of gas!

so tell me something about other ones... Type R civic?
remember my budget is between 5 to 7 grand

This has to be some kind of joke... A civic is no less girly than the other two, maybe worse.... How many times a day do you watch "Fast and the Furious"?

Out of those the EVO is the only one even remotely quick, the other two are dogs(atleast the Impreza has potential though).
And if your interested in racing, "sucking a lot of gas" is going to be a problem with any car thats fast, especially if its a boosted 4 cylinder.

Man, I dont know what to think... This is either a really bad joke, or you need to take a ride in some real performance cars.

Alright for starters, stop looking at FWD family cars and start looking into RWD or AWD cars made for performance from the start. The EVO like you mentioned would be good. An older BMW M3 is also a nice choice, although parts will be costly. 240SXs, Porsche 944s, 96+Camaro Z28s...

What kind of "racing" do you want to do? Drag, auto-x, road race etc.etc.?
