Likewise - initially I thought all the HF Turbos were AWD. However, just checked an Observers guide and the first HF Turbos were indeed FWD and available in the UK.

I've been driven a few times in a Delta HF. Powerful (with some tweeks) machine, decent handling, but lots of torque steer.
    Undoubtedly prettier.

We've got a 33 1.5Ti (105hp, 2 Dellortos DHLA40) at home. Magnificent engine! Extremely responsive and rev-happy, with an amazing soundtrack to top it off. The QV only gets better, so I can only imagine.
Handling-wise it was a surprise to discover a tail that's very happy to help you into corners, and an excellent global balance (boxer engine = lower gravity center).

P.S.: I'm an N/A diehard, so my choice might be a little biased...

The 2 wheel drive HF Turbo appeared before the 4WD. The HF 4WD was launched in 1986, and when Group A regulations were made the top class for rallying in 1987, Lancia had almost the perefect car. Another difference is that the front wheel drive has a 1.6-litre engine while the 4WD has a 2-litre engine with more power and therefore faster. I think it'd have been an unfair comparison for the little Alfa...
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
    Visca Catalunya!
