Why would they?
Porsche can sell every 911 they make, regardless of the success of the R8.
Audi can sell every R8 they make, regardless of the success of the 911.
Lamborghini can sell every Gallardo they make, regardless of the 911 or the R8.
By cancelling the R8, (which Porsche can't do anyway, they are only shareholders) Porsche would only be damaging their investment.
That sounds nothing like the R8.
