You were being cocky in the first place, I was just pointing something out which other people might not know. And lets get back to topic anyway.

I think there's some confusion over the S4... I have a feeling that Kitdy and Canuck were referencing the B5 platform, which is this one:

This is technically the second-gen model, as this is the first-gen... (also the one quattro_20v was referring to)

Then you have the third-gen, based on the B6, and then facelifted B7.

The specs are from the 100-based S4's so I think they are referring to that, therefore first generation. The 100 S4's were also available at some point with a 326bhp V8 engine, which IIRC was dubbed the Plus.

Could you just check back what kinda 'insights' you're trying to tell me at the first place before saying i'm cocky?

That should be left with Porsche specialist.

I'm just a mere car enthusiast that happened to own an A4. Which IMO with a nick called 'Ingolstadt' will be able to know what an Audi A100 is. And i agree with you Vaigra, I'm no expert.

The S4 was orginally based on the 100, but then the 100 was re-badged the A6, therefore the S version was known as the S6. The V8 engined car was the S6 plus.

You sure? That would made it more powerful than the S4 B5 250hp, which essentially is biturbo 2.8V6ltr.

    V8 - V6?

There was also a V8 engined S4. I was a bit wrong on the details, only 280bhp and wasn't called the Plus, but it existed.

Actually it was a 2.7-litre twin turbo V6 which had 265bhp and this happened because the S4 became the S6 (as Vaigra explained) and the fast A4 became known as the S4.
