you do realise with some rallies they choose the entrants....with the amount of 911's entered we'll have a better chance getting chosen in the spitfire, or your s13
track days are cheaper and easier to get in...

Rollcage and 6 point FIA harness FTW, maybe a hans device aswell , I think being a navi would be take more balls (no pun intended) than driving. I know my nephews have scared the shit out plenty of passengers on drive days (me included). Clutch are you running yoko 48r ?, what size are they ?

My paint also came off when I tried to remove them, the only solution is new paint, fark race cars are expensive

i haven't checked as yet, after it gets a roadworthy done on monday, and insurance etc is finalised, i'll be going over it a lot better just been driving it for now... i have to get the rest of the equipment off the previous owner too.
i do think an extra set of wheels with street tires would be an idea...you said it, expensive

As expensive as a hobby as it is i take solace in the immortal words of one of the first Ferrari Enzo owners, and what he said to his new wife.

"i don't drink, I don't smoke, I'm not gonna mess around, but one day you're gonna come home and it's likely i'll have bought a new car"

she's got to have one vice you can point out, right?

okay, so...i got it insured today no-one would do it (unsuprising), but then justcars, saviour of young drivers of modified cars around the nation, came to my rescue. They agreed to insure it..but at only half it's value still, can't complain too much.
they then refused point blank to insure my triumph which i then got comprehensively insured at suncorp for $280AUD per year, wierd - i listed the mods for them and everything - but then they wouldn't touch the mini's!!!
    gah insurance is so confusing

Don't worrry man, you could live here. If I actually called a company and asked for insurance on a race-prepped 911, I'd be laughed out of town (unless it was a turbo diesel, maybe )

Just tried a quote for various cars.

    Ford Granada Scorpio 2.9 V6 24v - $11,205/year (the car cost $1,400).
    Renault 19 16v - $6,500/year (cost of car: $1,050).
Ford Escort XR3i - uninsurable. Car costs $1,150, and it's ****ing uninsurable. For a 1.6 injection with 105bhp.

    So, think yourself lucky!

holy shit...that's...that's ridiculous. for the escort, why bother with insurance lol....just get third party
i guess i am pretty lucky then!
i did get told by a few companies that both the triumph and the 911 were too old for them to insure, but still.
