    Mid Engine Craze

The car Industry sure has been crazy

From front wheel drive craze back to rear wheel drive craze
Big engine craze to Small then back to Big engine

Now with the R8 out, many competitors are thinking of going to Mid engine sport modes

    Audi R8
    Audi R8 - Ultimatecarpage.com - Images, Specifications and Information

    Aston Martin NPX

    Mercedes P8

    which was suppsosedly aborted

now there are rumors of mclaren with a P11

Even the Russians were having a crack at a mid Engine Lotus competitor:
    Nebo

And people are still thinking of the super corvette(not Blue Devil), The Mid Engine Super GM. which was a No No By GM.

    Afterthought:
Dont forget the NSX that is supposed to be coming

The artist's conception of that Aston is hideous. I will be praying every night to make sure nothing like that ever has the AM badge on it

well its the thoughts from the manufacturers that counts, besides Most of these companies are serious white collar planners, they cant be spending millions of moneys on hot gas, We are bound to see at least one Mid engine car born that will replace the MR2

Dont forget Prodrive P2, or chrysler ME concept thing

I think the Prodrive P2 is front engined. And anyway none of the cars mentioned really counts as an MR2 successor at all.

You mean the MR-S.... yea, they don't make that any more either. Is there a single mid-engine car made in Japan any more?

With the exception of the R8, Cayman, and Ford GT (don't flame me for missing one) all companies that make mid-engine road cars have been doing so for a long time.

yeah, it was prodrive p1 i think but fact remains that there is no longer a cheap mid engine sports car in the markett that one can buy

Except for the lotus elise which is still quite rare, and not that cheap
Just four years ago we had the NSX and MR2, and with that competition gone it is only a matter of time before someone fills that space

It would appear so. He also implies that the NSX is cheap. Which prompts the question: what kind of burgers do you flip?

150k (AUD) + supercar competing with 35k hairdressers car?

Obviously we're wrong, their direct competitors.

you guys twist words more than you are knobs, I only said that if you had wanted to get a mid engine car that had a warranty and would cost less than 70 k then you had the mr2 and NSX, they were not that cheap but they were something unlike now where you can't afford anything other than replica kits

And by the way wendy's is not a gold trader
