brakes are talking to me

the noise has gone away now, and I didn't do a thing to it.... weird

If cars sit outside our shop for a while, the rotors usually get rusty, so after we are done working on them we take them on a drive to clear out the brakes. At the start of the drive they squeak and make the pedal pulse a bit, but after riding them a little and stabbing the brakes a few times it goes away.

I would get it checked out. Sometime pads wear at different rates (inner and outer) due to rust build-up etc. Most of the cars that I've worked on have a squealer tab that touches the rotor when the pad gets down to a certain point, your car may have a squealer tab and a warning light, the sensor for the warning light may not have worn down enough yet. Also with the deletion of asbestos from brake pads and a very high metal content in the pads some noise is very normal and almost impossible to get rid of. I say for the time it takes to have them looked at it is worth it for your peace of mind.
