That's actually quite well done, the roof looks normal.

Swiss company Caruna used to make such conversions in the 80s.
It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

I'm with you .. can think of better things to waste $15k on

My valuation would extend to around $4 to 5k, tops - if by chance you wanted to inflict that leper on yourself. I own a similar car (pic) and my first glance was directed to the rear door windows which don't retract fully on W126 sedans. The inevitable result is not compatible with the convertible look and, even worse, they were obviously forced into 'facilitating' that primitive B-pillar insert. Window rattles here we come

    Oh my ...

I remember encountering most of these problems (and more) in my old Hudson Stepdown convert, another ex-sedan butcher job, which permanently put me off wanting another similar automotive abortion. I also recall watching a mate take the gas axe to an otherwise decent (and now collectible) Ford XA 351 sedan, resulting in another 4-wheeled crucification

The W126 is a great model imo. And one of their best strengths is literally that - the solidity. Thankfully at least these artistes didn't choose to hack into an SEC (the coupe version)

Hypocritically I kinda like this perverse W126 ute along with those rare but I think very attractive wagon aftermarket-conversions

Looks similar in concept to the Renault Van thing that Clarkson chopped up.

Nah, it looks good. I just wouldn't put my money on it. It'll probably leak the first chance it gets.
