    Bmw X1

BMW's 1 Series-based, kids-meal size crossover isn't due to arrive until sometime in 2010, but a prototype in traditional BMW urban camouflage has been caught on camera by industrious spy shooters.

The X1 does not seem to be far removed from the European-market five-door hatch variant of the 1 Series it undoubtedly shares hardware with (the X1 also will reportedly shares some bits with the upcoming Mini Crossman). The spy shooters say the X1 is about the same size as a Toyota Rav4, although that would also make it similar in size to the present X3, leading to the probability that the next X3, due in 2011, is in for a growth spurt.

The X1 should share engines with the 1 Series, so expect versions with the naturally aspirated and twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six combined with BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system.

Knowing BMW designers, they might as well release it with the camo on, cos when it comes off, chances are it'll be nasty...

Hopefully this means the new X3 will be similar to the previous X5. The current X5 is a great car but just too damn big.

Wow! How considerate BMW is for making Ultimate Driving Mini SUVs for 13 year old girls that was made pregnant by their 15 year old boyfriends. alas they might not afford one thou.

What's next? 11 Series Ultimate Driving MPV Coupe with 7 seats and 2 doors with a swooping roofline for the ultimate style conscious soccer moms? How bout an X8 using BMW 7 series underpinnings with off road capabilities for the urban lifestyles executives with air travel phobias so that they can rush all the way from New York's Time Square to Yellow Stone National Park for an off-site meeting?

I feel like if I bought an M6 and lowered it plus completely remodeled it then painted it black, people would be like z0mg 800 series!
How are they so certain that this is from BMW? I know that it probably is, but some guy could've changed his x3, couldn't he?

The red characters on the numberplates are just another hint that this isn't just a riced X3 or something...

Oh, do red characters mean that the car is special in some way?

So this is a BMW FX (from Infiniti)?

How pointless. Why can't they just buy a 5 series wagon and be done with it?

Way more useful than this hunk-a-junk.

Probably a provisional plate for test mules. Altough I'm not familiar with german road laws. Maybe someone can enlighten us on that?

Really, BMW becomes a company making crappy SUV's instead of putting money in more sports cars which they can do almost genially. Who won't like any special modification of M3 or another M-cars? Finally, they're talking about their own supercar for ten years already...
