Since my two other threads with fire trucks were well visited, I thought I might as well post some pictures about the fire trucks I get to use.
Fire truck 1
Codenumber: 81736
Manufacturer: Mercedes-Benz
Type: 1120AF36[Ecoliner]
Build: 1991
Vehicle type: TS8*
Rear construction: Ziegler/Ajax
Pump:
- High pressure: 260 l/min
- Low pressure: 2800 l/min
- Tank: 2400 l
This vehicle is the oldest vehicle of 'Brandweer Waalre'. Before it arrived in 1991, it first got displayed at the 'Interschutz' exhibition in Frankfurt, the largest fire fighting exhibition in Europe. The German Ziegler company presented this vehicle because of the new tank fitted in this vehicle. Because of a special suspension the tank could also move, so that the vehicle was more stable off-road.
Currently the fire department is looking for a replacement for this truck. It will probably become a Mercedes-Benz Actros or a MAN TGA.
* TS8 stand for the vehicle type. The first two letters tell what type of vehicle it is, the number tells something more about the vehicle. These are the most common vehicle types:
- TS - A basic fire engine, the number tells how big the crew is.
- HV - Rescue vehicle, the number tells something about the range of equipment.
- HW/AL - Ladder truck, the number tells how high the ladder can reach.
- WO - Water resque vehicle, no number is added.
- VC - Mobile command center, the number tells something about the equipment.
- DA - A 'normal' car used for various goals, a second pair of letters tells what the vehicle is mainly used for (for example, DA-OD = fire chief).
