my dad saw "a race car is born" and has been getting me to find out stuff about kit cars more so the lotus super 7. i found one for 2000 pounds but im not really convinced about them i think it would be fun to bulid etc but getting the parts at the right price will be a pain and getting it road legal in aus would also be a pain. ne way i like some kit cars but others are sh!tty and if some1 could give me some info about kit cars it would be appreciated.

All this panel swapping is a good idea, if you get it right. The best panel swapping example is called the Veranti.
Its an original design, very easy to build and lovely to look at!I would post a pic, but the images are closely guarded on the site i tried.

Don't waste your money no matter what you do it is a replica look at this
way, say I see you and your car on the street, I'm going to ask you, "hey
is that a 250 GTO???? this is you ""NO IT WAS A 260Z,,,,BUT IT HAS
    350 V8"" THIS IS ME""OH"" OK SEEEEEYYYAAAAA....

    YOU GET THE PICTURE RIGHT???!!!
