    X360 power supply.

So my 360's power supply took a shit. Y'know, that huge brick looking thing. Yeah. Are they available new through retailers? I found some on eBay but those are reman. I'd prefer new OE. Also don't want to spend a small fortune. Worst case, I'll find my warranty paperwork and head to Best Buy. But that's a pain in the ass.

    Thanks in advance.

This is completely irrelevant. And it's a personal opinion.

I took a deeper look through MS's database and I no longer think it's the PS. Thinking the console took a shit. So it's drop $200 for a new one, or $94 for MS to reman it. Do 360 boxes have the serial number on the package somewhere? I may try to scam WalMart.

For games? Xbox 360 > blow jobs > PS3 > getting kicked in the nuts > Wii.
For being a media center? PS3 > Xbox 360. Even better if you still have an original 60gig unit like I do.

No there's a hole in the box so the S/N on the console is visible. There are some barcodes on the box however but I'm unsure they are related to the S/N on the console (there's like 4 barcodes on it anyway).

So I should be able to go to WallyWorld, buy a 360, return home, swap everything sans my HDD, and return it. No questions asked? Viable?

If it fails you can always sell your broken 360 as a working one. Be evil.

My friend recently got a new 360. His other one died, so he bought one from Asda (walmart), boxed up his broken one in the new box and took it back to asda the next day. No questions asked. Free xbox. Sorted

This is comforting to know. I already got a new one (originally a 60gb, but I'm keeping my HDD cause I have too much information to start over), and when it was being rung up I saw a screen that said "SERIAL NUMBER." It was busy and this guy didn't look like he cared. I don't think he entered it. Sending it back with my non-conniving looking mother.

    lol nice

There was no trouble at all, they simply looked in the box to check everything was there and gave him a full refund.

Well, I just checked the receipt and the serial number for the new unit is in fact on it. Hmm...

If you want to be really tricky, you'll swap the guts in em... if that's possible with the different hardware versions you'll likely have.

So the truth came out today. I called my mom to see if she'd returned the console yet. "I'm not going to." What??? Apparently one of her dogs decided to use it as a fire hydrant and peed on it. I wasn't home, so they cleaned it off and hoped for the best. I thought the yellow goop inside of the faceplate was a little off.

Now, I've heard there's a way to transfer data from one hard drive to another. How? 60Gb here I come!!!
