Given that the engine and many of the functional bits are the same, as is the weight, it really comes down to looks. Caterham for me, no question.
Has to be the Atom.
first ... more than 8 people can own one
second ... it's not just a Lotus 7 with improvements and materials
third ... not even the GOOD Lotus 7-esque suspension layout
fourth ... you don't HAVE to learn how to drive the Atom
finally ... any Honda mechanic can work on the engine and plenty of perfromance tuners.... You can NEVER go too fast

Um, I think he meant the Atom 500, which would be a better comparison, so most if not all of your reasons don't really apply.
I think the only reasonable way to solve this is a showdown at the 'ring, because that absolutely, positively solves all arguments relating to cars.
None.
Both are far too uncomfortable.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
Visca Catalunya!

erm, only the Engine mechainc one falls away, the rest still hold true
WHat and have monaroCountry point out how they are actually faster than the GT-R ? no thanksI think the only reasonable way to solve this is a showdown at the 'ring, because that absolutely, positively solves all arguments relating to cars.

can the Nurburgring rest in peace just as a wonderful track?!
it's used by a lot of automakers to test their cars, but that doesn't mean they are going at ten tenth all the time. A lot of them are just driving them as if it was an open road (well, it actually is) without traffic and speed cameras.
we are pretending too much from it, and are probably going to ruin its reputation making it the second most boring argument on enthusiasts' forums, after the LOL GT-R of course .

I tihnk the point about 'ring numbers, is that manufacturers WILL go ten-tenths to bag a "good score".
Problem now is thre are too many variables and the argumetn ends up in the usual internet argument style of no facts and all opinion
WHat IS true is lots of cars manage fantastic times on the 'Ring and it does demonstate a good all round ability
on and ther eare LOTS of owners who DO thrash their cars to ten-tenths too.
Some even do 11 tenths and end up on their roof -- see the Z4 on the RX-8 ring trip thread
