    My first Mac

Just got my computer back from being fixed. Decided to take some pics and post it up on here since its my macginity. Its a iBook G4 from like 06 i bought used for about $500.. Came with excel, word, cs2, all the good stuff. 1.25 gb of ram, 60 gb hard drive, its plenty fast for what i do on it. And for a Mac.. you can't beat $500. Check it out. Comment if you wish, suggestions on keeping it up are welcome.

why a G4?! for 500$ I bet you could have found one of the first MacIntel.
btw, a friend of mine used to have one, much faster than what I thought, quite reliable and full of good stuff for free.

My father have one of the recent iMac, and I find it better than a computer. that's also due to Vista, I must admit, but I'm of the same opinion when compared to XP

    Condolences**

And for one, I'm in a IU art school in Indianapolis, the whole school is nothing but iMac computers. For two, i can get software waay cheap through school. Plus, every mac i have ever been on has been way better than a pc computer. They are harder to fix on your own, but if you don't do stupid stuff there aren't really any problems with them at all.. Another thing.. i carry my book to classes, im a graphic design (visual communications) major, so i need something portable.. iBook weights some 5lbs and is very compact. So it's perfect.. until i get the money for a macbook pro that is

Edit-- And all my apps boot immediately, the computer takes about fifteen seconds to turn on completely and it turns off in about 5. And the processor is fairly small.. so ill take it over my old dell any day..

Macs are good for everything other than gaming. They're multimedia powerhouses, professional tools, and everyday work machines. But when it comes to gaming, they may have the top of the range parts, but because of their OS, it just can't compete with PCs.

I'm using a Macbook Pro now, and it's my first ever computer. It is such an easy thing to use, and I installed Windows on it, so I can play games. But I think I played too much before, so my fans need replacement... which will set me back over $200 NZDs...

13" Macbook with 2 GB of ram and a 160 GB hard drive cost $1299 plus tax. LOLGTR.

Where does the money go.. OS X? And I hate the god damn Mac cult.

a computer with that hardware is going to die under Vista managment (ask my poor HP for proof), so yes, you are paying the OS X.

    I own a Mac but I also hate the rampant fanboy(and girl)ism

Which makes no sense to me. Macs should sell for 300 dollars less than they do. But, people buy them because they don't know how to use and maintain a PC (yes I know some people need a Mac).
