Er where I you getting your hp figures from Nash? They seem somewhat high to me . . . but I'll take the C5 anyway.

Cool -> Don't forget that these things run restrictors so . . .
    imagine the figures without them

CCC magazine did an indepth analysis on the C5 - R and Evo did a stop check on the M3. No doubt every magazine will show a different figure Top speed is somewhat academic because it changes depending on gearing and aerodynamic configuration.

I would choose the M3 GTR, but I thought they stopped racing it, because of the restrictions the FIA gave them.

Not sure Rob; but more info on the C5 (2003)

427ci 90degree V8 with 8 throttle bodies and individual runners (yum)
    Valve angle = 11 degrees
    610hp@6200
    570 lbs-ft @5600
    (both figures on 100 octane)
    bore 4.120" with 4.00" stroke

Obviously its still a food 'ol pushrodeer with 2 valves per cylinder & chain drive, but racing means its at least got a dry sump.

(Seems you were right on the HP Nash. (hangs head in shame))

They stopped racing them because Porsche complained to FIA that the GTR was too fast.

I don't know what you're talking about, because after 100mph, the C5-R out performs the GTR.

Note: Quarter miles times and trap speeds.

Unless they are racing in the same series under the same rules, I'm afraid they shouldn't really be compared.

I don't agree with that. Do you want me to report you to a moderator?
